The topical workshop promotes a broad global exchange of information on technologies, operations, management and safety for the Research and Development activities on decommission and dismantling of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant.
On 2019, eight years will be passed after the accident. Recovery from the accident is the most important goal not only for Japan but also the world. Tokyo Olympic Paralympic Games will be held on 2020. One year prior to the games, worldwide engineers and researchers will discuss the current and future activities on Fukushima Decommissioning, showing the steadily recovery of Fukushima.
At this conference, the current state of results on the world's most advanced technologies and research aiming for development will be reported and discussed. And also, the results of the latest robot technology and inspection technology used to investigate fuel debris inside the containment vessel of Fukushima Dai-ichi NPS will be introduced.

International conference on nuclear engineering (ICONE27) will be held on May 19-23, 2019 at Tsukuba International Conference center. The workshop is one of the satellite workshop to enhance the D&D activities on Fukushima.
